We follow the principles of sustainable mining
We are committed to the mining responsibility system of the Finnish Sustainable Mining Network, which is based on the international Towards Sustainable Mining standard (TSM). Accordingly, we follow operating principles that are sustainable in terms of nature, people and the economy, including the entire life cycle of the project, from ore exploration to mine closure and follow-up.
We compile an annual social responsibility report, which tells, for example, about the scope of operations in terms of the number of people and land use, corporate taxes paid, effects on the use of nearby areas, occupational safety and cooperation with stakeholders. The reports of the companies committed to the system are published on the Kaivosvastuu.fi website.
